128GB Blu-ray Disc format slated for release The Blu-ray Disc Association this week announced plans to release a new commercial high-definition disc format that will offer up to 128GB of write-once capacity within months. Intel Releases 6 Core Processor
Intel released its new 6 core processor ,running at 3.33GHz with 12 meg of L3 cache.The Core i7-980X Extreme Edition is a Gulftown Core,32 nanometer 130Watt chip and uses a LGA 1366 socket.It contains 1.17 billion transistors.The chip speed can jump to 3.6 GHZ in turbo mode.There are reports of over clocking to 3.9Ghz with a stock cooler and remaining stable.The six-core chip is capable of processing up to 12 threads.There have been reports of benchmark testing showing the Core i7-980X Extreme Edition to be the best performing desktop processor ever tested.
