Linux Mint 10 is a Winner!

I'm writing this post from the new Linux Mint 10.How can you get much better than this? I just installed it on my old laptop,a Dell Inspiron  8600 which still gets a lot of use.There is no Windows on it at all.No reason to need it. This install took maybe a half hour if that and everything just works,no adjustments needed!  It picked up my wifi card automatically and I just had to tell it the security  settings on it. . Dvd playback  ,all the media codecs just work.The Mint desktop looks great,nice wallpapers,menus,great software selection.It comes with Open Office,and you can add all kinds of other software ,all for free.I downloaded the dvd version but they also have a cd version that can be upgraded to the dvd version with no problems.
  No malware or virus here.No antivirus needed.Many people who don't run specialty programs (windows only) ,just read email,cruise the net ,would do great with this latest offering from Mint.There may also be alternative programs available for those programs.It is a no hassle easy to install distro,try it today!
